DANIEL K. PROCTOR  |  Principal

Dan Proctor, founder and principal of Kirk Designs, Inc., came to interior design over 30 years ago. Between studying in the U.S. and Denmark, he earned his design degree along with an appreciation for European sensibilities. Dan started off his career in the real estate business, which is where his interest for transforming properties first took shape. He moved on to a position as the Director of Design for a local contract firm, which focused on space planning for corporate headquarters. It didn't take long for Dan to realize his true career path of forming his own business and working directly with clients.

An active leader and board member in Baltimore community organizations, Dan has participated with the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy, the Board and Review Committee for Homeland, the Eutaw Madison Association, and several committees in the Guilford neighborhood. He has worked with non profit organizations such as Paul's Place, House of Ruth, the Family Tree, Ronald McDonald House, and the Maryland Food Bank to improve the quality of life in Baltimore. Support of these organizations is fueled by his belief  that a healthy community is the cornerstone of where one not only lives but a place one calls home.

I find gratification in the ever-changing world of interior design. I get to delve into a creativity that affects aspects of our client’s daily environment. The more we build a strong design vocabulary, the more we can be as precise as possible to determine the needs of our design partners. I want them to feel inspired every day.
